The story of Carpani began in 1996 in the heart of the Apennines; Filippo Carpani, ski instructor, together with his business partner, Antonio Guidi, decided to start a business designing and building ski plates. The products are developed with a high technological content, starting from the characteristics particularly demanded by competitive skiing. This leads to obtaining industrial patents, and the plates generate great interest from the market both at the Italian and International level.

In the following years, the world of skiing underwent significant changes, both in terms of technologies and materials, and in the composition of the market from an industrial and commercial perspective.

These changes led Filippo and his partner, also a ski instructor, to consider the design and production of skis in addition to the plates. Despite the complexity that this decision would entail, the strategy was as clear as it was ambitious from the start; ‘the products would be developed internally and their production based on vertical integration, executed and managed in detail internally’.

The competitive nature of the materials produced led the company to approach the world of competitions and in 2006 Carpani skis participated in the Turin Paralympic Games where the athlete Silvia Parente and her guide Lorenzo Migliari won 4 medals; three golds and one bronze, followed by numerous world and European titles.

In the same year, Filippo and his partner decide to take different paths, Filippo with the help of his father, Lorenzo, also a ski instructor, and later his partner Matteo, founds Carpani Snc, a company entirely dedicated to the design and construction of skis and ski plates.

The ambitious development strategy requires the progressive acquisition of the technical facilities and necessary machinery, keeping in mind the ultimate goal of producing the skis entirely within the company.

The main goal was to guarantee the best quality of the product for the end user. This required a significant and progressive financial commitment.

Over the years, the range of skis has expanded in a coherent and functional manner to cover various market segments, however, the competitive skiing segment continues to represent the central element of development and production, the true soul of the company.

The strategy is to develop skis by focusing in this process on the most advanced technologies and the most evolved materials to enable the athletes followed to achieve the best performances. All these elements are first made available in the competitive field and subsequently to the amateur and tourism market segments, allowing all our users to use skis with high constructive value.

The intuition proves effective, leading over the years to our skis being increasingly used in the FIS Masters circuit where athletes using our skis achieve excellent results, winning several titles at the national and international level. This allows us to further develop technologies and use increasingly advanced materials to achieve performances that are second to none compared to other brands.

The increased volume of skis produced and the need to introduce new technologies and materials compel us to expand our development and production spaces. We are therefore moving to a new and larger facility which allows us to more easily develop skis and technologies that are future-oriented and performance-driven, both in competitive and amateur fields.

On the competition front, the journey started years ago allows us to achieve results that, although planned, are obtained much earlier than initially anticipated. This leads us to see our skis competing in the Women’s World Cup circuit in the 2020-2021 season, where they achieve flattering results from their very first appearance.

As important as this result is, for us it is only a starting point. After about 40 years, an Italian ski, entirely designed and built in our country, returns to the World Cup circuit. We are immensely happy, however, this represents for us solely a commitment and a responsibility for future growth and development.

Despite the difficulties of the moment, 2021 sees us doubling our efforts to develop new technologies and materials. In this regard, we have reached collaboration agreements for research on materials and production processes with the goal of producing increasingly high-performance skis at the competitive, amateur, and tourist levels.

Simultaneously, we are structuring the company on the commercial front as well to allow for better visibility of our brand both nationally and internationally.

This journey began in 1996 with a dream that has progressively turned into reality. We thank all the athletes and friends who have accompanied us so far; it has been a unique and immensely rewarding experience for us.

We guarantee all our travel companions; past, present, and future, our utmost commitment to our shared passion for downhill skiing in all its forms and contexts; from competition at the highest levels to amateur and tourist skiing.

We realize that at the core of all this there is a common denominator; the passion for skiing that unites us and that we share with all of you.

This passion, today as in the past, leads us to a belief that is as humble as it is heartfelt; the differences between our skis and others are really quite simple; our eyes and our heart.
